Every JRH strategy is built for, and integrates with, the NinjaTrader® 8 trading platform. The platform and simulator are free to download and use with no deposit, so you can run a strategy on Sim before you risk any money.
Platform integration
NinjaTrader®
JRH strategies install as NinjaTrader 8 add-ons and run inside the platform. Download NinjaTrader to get:
- A free simulator, with no time limit on simulated trading
- Advanced charting, including trading directly from your charts
- A backtesting engine to test trading strategies on historical data
- Trade management with automatically submitted stop orders, target orders and trailing stops
NinjaTrader's free trial includes 14 days of real-time data. After that you can use delayed data, subscribe to real-time data, or connect a funded account.

Kinetick®
Kinetick delivers market data for active traders inside NinjaTrader, including real-time quotes for CME futures.
Kinetick's free end-of-day connection gives you daily historical data in NinjaTrader at no cost. To run a JRH strategy you need real-time CME data, which Kinetick offers as a subscription.

When you're ready to go beyond Sim, connect your own futures account in NinjaTrader and run the strategy the same way. Check that your broker or prop firm allows automated trading, and check margin requirements and commissions before you trade.
What JRH Strategies needs from NinjaTrader
- NinjaTrader 8, version 8.1.5 or later. The free license covers charting, backtesting and the simulator.
- Real-time and historical data for CME equity-index futures (NQ and MNQ).
- Your JRH license key, pasted into the strategy's settings once. It works on up to two computers.
