Setup

From download to running on Sim

Six steps, in order, for any JRH strategy. Most problems come from the chart settings in step 4, so each strategy ships with a short setup guide that lists its exact settings.

  1. Install NinjaTrader 8

    Use version 8.1.5 or later, and connect a data feed with real-time CME equity-index futures data. NinjaTrader's free trial includes 14 days of real-time data.

  2. Import the add-on

    In NinjaTrader's Control Center, choose Tools → Import → NinjaScript Add-On…, pick the JRH .zip file and confirm. Restart NinjaTrader if it asks.

  3. Paste your license key

    It's in your Whop orders right after checkout. Paste it into the strategy's License key setting the first time you add the strategy. It binds to this computer, and to one more if you add a second, such as a VPS; to move it later, reset it from your Whop account.

  4. Open the chart from the setup guide

    Open an NQ or MNQ chart with the settings in the strategy's guide, on the CME US Index Futures ETH trading hours, with at least 30 days loaded. In Tools → Options → General, set the time zone to Eastern.

  5. Add the strategy on Sim

    Right-click the chart, choose Strategies, then the JRH strategy. Set your contracts, set Set order quantity to Strategy, pick the Sim101 account and enable it.

  6. Watch it before going live

    Leave it on Sim long enough to see several trades, and check each one against the behavior on its strategy page. Only consider a live account if your broker or firm allows automated trading, and keep an eye on it while it runs.

Requirements

  • NinjaTrader 8, version 8.1.5 or later
  • Real-time and historical CME data for NQ and MNQ
  • Eastern time, and the chart settings in the setup guide
  • At least 30 days of history loaded
  • NinjaTrader running whenever the strategy can trade
